Amanda Cherie Nelsen

Amanda Cherié Nelsen was born in Lansing, Michigan to Mr. & Mrs. Timothy Covert. She began traveling with her family, singing southern gospel music at the age of seven until they settled into full-time ministry in 1995. Her father was truly the minister, but he always expressed his desire for the entire family’s support and it was reflected in every member’s involvement. As a result, Amanda felt a natural desire to continue pursuing music by attending North Central University. Amanda married Robert Nelsen on July 17, 2004. Amanda & Robert quickly knew that God was calling them to serve together in music around the country. In 2006, they established Amanda Cherie Music Ministries. In late 2007, Amanda completed her first original CD project, “Run Home.” It is a compilation of Amanda’s best writing from the past few years. Looking up Looking Up “Looking Up is a Contemporary Christian Rock band in South Eastern Michigan. We are a ministry dedicated to spreading the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through music. Although we are a rock band, our music is very diverse and includes praise and worship as well as thought provoking ballads. The beginnings of Looking Up go back as far as 15 years ago when drummer, Blaine Thiel, and guitarist, Richard Engle began playing together. The addition of bassist, Bob Bolton, several years later would solidify the core of the band. These first 3 members have gone through many other personnel and style changes, but have remained committed to God's call. The last member, singer and guitar player Kevin Brown, would join the band in November of 2000, forming the band that is today known as Looking Up.
