Media Messengers is a nonprofit, inter-denominational organization commissioned to communicate the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We use creative avenues such as TV commercials, print media, video, the internet and evangelistic missions like the Lansing Bless Fest.-Media Production -Web Ministry-Concert Events -Outreach

OUR MESSAGE

Our vision began ten years ago. It was born out of prayer and a great desire to use media in reaching the hurting people of our community. We wanted to see God’s people illuminate His message of love. But that’s not where the story began. The family ministry has a long history dating back to running a church and many outreach events in the 70’s and 80’s. Our heart is to reach people where they are and to be real with them about our God and what he’'s done for us.

OUR HISTORY

"A Timeless Message with a Modern Delivery."

Media Messengers is a non-profit, inter-denominational organization commissioned to communicate the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, in unique and creative ways. Our vision is to reach our local community as well as our world wide community, through TV commercials, print and internet media, video, film, and evangelistic missions, such as the Lansing Bless Fest, a Christian music festival held annually, in Lansing Michigan. The vision for our organization began over ten years ago. It was born out of prayer and a great desire to use media to bring the message of hope and life to the people of our community. Back in 2003, Rev. Rudy Henderson along with his family, began Media Messengers, an evangelistic organization. From the beginning evangelism and street outreach were at the heart of this mission. The idea for a media outreach was born after months of prayer and waiting upon God. Media Messenger's senior director, Rev. Henderson, had been active in Christian work for over thirty years. Much of that time was devoted to helping people in spiritual need, ministering to those who were down and out and in pastoring a church. In the last twenty-five years, Rev. Henderson also worked in media and television production, within the Michigan TV market. God revealed the direction and scope of our mission in a clear and difined vision. Our directive is to share the good news in a language that anyone can hear and understand. A major part of our mission is to share real life stories of people who have encountered God in their lives. LANSING BLESS FEST

Sat. Aug.26th 12:30 pm - 10 pm

The Lansing Bless Fest is a two day music festival for all people but especially for those in the Lansing, MI and surrounding areas. The festival primarily features Christian gospel and contemporary rock music. It will be held at the Adado Riverfront Park, near the corner of North Grand Ave. and Shiawassee St. about 3 1/2 blocks from the State Capitol, just east of the Lansing Community College campus. Admission is free to all concerts and free picnic style food will be provided. There will also be a free fun kids area, free raffles and free giveaways throughout the day. Helpful services are freely offered through local Christian/non profit organizations and businesses. People are in need of a blessing and a way out of their suffering, that’s why we are here!

The Lansing Flow Fest is an all rap and hip-hop show that features local and nationally known Christian rap artists. This high energy event will appeal to teens and young people of all ages. 1. Set Up/Take Down: We set up as much as possible Friday all day, before the Flow Fest, setting up items such as Stages, tents, and things that can be left over night. Other things will be set up on Saturday morning, such as inflatable games, tents tables and chairs, food prep stations. Decorations/Signs: 8am-10:30am. Take down: 7:30 pm-10: 00pm.2. Cooking/Serving: This area is a major hub of activity! Morning volunteers are needed at approx.10 am, 2 hours before the festival. Shifts can vary in length, or you’re welcome to do multiple shifts: 10am-11:30am Set up/fire up 11:30 pm-2 pm 2 pm- 4 pm 4 pm-6 pm 6 pm-7:30 pm. This job includes, fixing plates for patrons, grilling, opening packages, moving trash, running supplies, helping kids/elderly transport their plates, find adequate eating areas, socializing with our guests and making sure they feel welcome. 3. Children’s Game Area: We’ll need approx. 10-20 people for each shift, to help with the kids games & monitor safety, help with raffles and enjoy playing with the kids throughout the day. Volunteers are welcome to stay as long as you’d like, or rotate on and off. 12 noon-3 pm 3:00 pm-6:30 pm 6:30 pm-7:30 pm : take down of games and inflatables. There is also a mother/baby oasis that could use some help watching after and playing with the toddlers/babies and ministering to moms.4. Information/Hospitality: (set up signs, handing out programs, helping people, socializing/ministering to guests and making them feel comfortable) another responsibility would be to check in with our ministry partners helping them set up, assisting them and making them feel at home. Please arrive as close to 10 am as possible, for first orientation and sign set ups. 2 or more people per shift: 10 am-12 pm 12 pm-2 pm 2 pm-4 pm 4pm-5:30pm 5:30 pm-7 pm From 7 pm until close : 5. On Call ” Clean Up Volunteers, help anywhere needed throughout the day, that could be anything even, changing garbage barrels, checking bathrooms and replace supplies, really anything!Thanks so much for volunteering! Partner Questions & Answers: Q & A Results:1.) When does Bless Fest begin/end? 2.) How much does it cost? 3.) When is setup & tear down? 4.) Can we sell products? 5.) Are vendors responsible for their own shelter?? 10.) Can we give away any food items? 11.) Is there any security on the grounds? 12.) Does anyone follow up after the event? 13.) Does Media Messengers accept charitable donations?1. 2011 Bless Fest times: Friday— 5:30pm-10:00pm opening night we kick off an all Hip Hop/Rap concert. Saturday 12:30pm- 10:00pm you will have opportunity to reach a broader audience for a greater length of time. We would ask that you arrive on the grounds an hour before your starting time. If you have a larger set up we would encourage you to set up on Friday afternoon or earlier on Saturday morning prior to the festival beginning. We do have volunteers who may be available to assist you if needed. 2. There is no charge for those involved with the Festival. However, we do encourage donations to assist with our costs. We always accept donations of money or useful items from businesses, ministries and individuals alike. 3. We start putting up tents on Friday night and finish early Saturday morning. Saturday’s Bless Fest ends by 10:30 pm however the Food Tent area and other main booths generally close by 7 pm on Saturday. Unless in a well-lit area, or your booth has lights we ask that you close down by dark. Most activity after 7pm occurs by the main staging areas. 4. Sale of material by those who are not performing or charges for services is prohibited. Our main objective is to give to the community "freely" through this event. We do not collect offerings from our guests. The only exception is made for performers to sell their merchandise to assist them with expenses. All of our performers graciously donate all of their performance time and services. 5. We allow enough space for what your mission or business needs. We will do our best to provide you with a great location although it is first come first served. There are key areas that are designated but we have plenty of space in the main areas of traffic. We have a large tent for Christian based non-profit organizations by the Food Tent and the Prayer Tent which is an ideal area! Parking space is available to you.6. We are completely outdoors! Bless Fest is located at the Adado Riverfront Park west grounds. It's best to have a canopy or large umbrella shelter to protect you from the sun and possible showers. We run the festival rain or shine. So far we've been blessed with great weather. Although, in case of inclement weather, we will wait it out and continue the festivities as soon as we get the “all clear”. 7. Yes, we have electricity and plan to have multiple plug strips available. Please let us know in advance and we can arrange to run an extension cord to a corner of your area. Closer to the main area is best if electricity is needed. Please provide your own extension cord to reach a power strip. 8. We have a limited supply of tents, canopies, tables and chairs. We try to provide at least one table and a couple of chairs per vendor. Having your own tent may be of benefit to you depending on when you arrive since there is a limited supply. If you are giving away several large items we can provide some tables, chairs and at least 1- 10 ft. x 10 ft. or 1-10 ft .x 20 ft. canopy. Another option for you is an area within a very large tent. 9. If you want to give away free food items they must be store bought and remain commercially packaged. Please let us know what you plan to give away. All other items are prohibited per Ingham County Health Department rules. Our organization is licensed and inspected by the Health Department every year. We are allowed to cook and give out only specific food items. You're welcome to work with our food prep tent from 12-6pm. For further questions please contact Collette Henderson—Food Prep Supervisor at media-messengers_yahoo.com. 10. There is shelter close to each stage. Large canopies are provided and two hundred chairs at the south portable stage area. The amphitheater stage has plenty of concrete step seating within an uncovered area. A number of chairs are placed at the top of the hill overlooking the stage. It's best to bring sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat! We have enough shelter around for immediate needs if weather permits. 11. Yes, we have Christian volunteer security staff that is also Michigan Department of Corrections officers. Along with our evangelistic teams they work together to check the grounds regularly throughout the entire day. We're blessed to have experienced staff! 12. Yes, Media Messengers staff follows-up on those who made decisions to serve the Lord. If your church or organization has been instrumental in this decision then we encourage you to take the lead and continue to nurture them in your church family. Media Messengers otherwise guides those who need help finding a local church and assists them in their immediate need for Christian fellowship.13.) Christian businesspersons looking to be a part of blessing their city are welcome to help sponsor the Bless Fest! We only ask that something is given away to the community. As a partner they will then be allowed to pass out business cards, flyers or product samples at their booth. Companies donating gifts will be added to our advertisements and will be mentioned as a partner from the stages. This festival is a gift to our special guests! We want everyone to experience God’s love and blessing. *Food is available to the community, bands and all volunteers! There are several food places nearby if you would like something else. YES! The music is clean and positive. There's also bounce houses/obsticle courses and dancing and flashy show lights. Yes over the years Rap and Hip-hop has had it's share of less than worthy role models and at times has fostered a negative message for young people. We are proud to endorse the message and performance of all our guest artists. The message of the Lansing Flow Fest is one of hope, faith and love. This entire opperation is our great passion for our personal and public faith in Jesus Christ. Simply put we are regular Christians who's lives have been greatly impacted by faith in Jesus Christ.
